GIRAFFE
RAISES ITS HEAD IN THE WEST END
Giraffe
is delighted to announce the opening
of a second restaurant cafe at 6-8
Blandford Street, London WlH 3HA,
on Monday 28th June 1999.
The original
Giraffe, situated on the trendy
Hampstead High Street, was opened
by Russel and Juliette Joffe,
together with Andrew Jacobs,
following the sale of the Joffe's
phenomenally successful Cafe
Flo chain. Having brought the
French Bistro to the London high
street, Giraffe now plans
to do the same with global food
and world-music.
The menu
draws inspiration from all over
the globe, with the accent on
healthy eating. Customers can
feast upon a wide variety of
delicious dishes, from Stacked
Banana & Blueberry Pancakes,
through Goats Cheese, Marinated
Pepper & Zucchini Quesadilla;
to Wok Fired (fried?) Noodles
with Peashoots, Bok Choy, Napa
Cabbage, Scallion & Wild Garlic
Leaf. Giraffe also offers a varied
selection of raw fresh juices
such as Jamming Giraffe or for
those who want a little more
kick, Orange Margarita.
Giraffe
opens at 8am on weekdays, 9am
at the weekend and doesn't close
until 11.OOpm. Meals are unstructured
and clients are encouraged to
have as much or as little as
they would like from grazers
to guzzlers, whilst the promise
of value for money means a meal
for as little as œ10.
The restaurant's
African iroko wood interior is
lined with benches for an informal
family feel. Bright cushions
and posters - all with the signature
giraffe motif complement the
decor. World-music plays in the
background enhancing the global
ambience.
