the UK based Restaurant and Hotel Review

Charles Pelham's useful advice on getting the most out of
Taiwanese dining at the restaurant King Join

As usual in Taipei, it is difficult to reproduce the address due to the difficulty for the untrained Westerner to decipher Chinese characters. But don't worry, your hotel concierge will assist.

Now that you have been to The Palace Museum and tried the famous dumpling place, it is time to explore the roots from whence the delightful Taiwanese came. You therefore need to make your way over to King Join, the famous restaurant which serves Northern Chinese food, in very elegant and traditional surroundings.

Being a Leo, I love gold, and liking to eat, I love red, as it is the colour that is supposed to make you eat more. If you like these two majestic colours King Join will make you happy, because these colours are everywhere!

There is an enormously complicated menu, but you can make it simple. The best thing to order is the HotPot, into which goes delicious prawns, clams, shredded beef and pork and chinese cabbage. The accompanying sauces, especially the one for the pork, is dark, slightly sweet and delicious.

Have a great evening, I really enjoy this place.
