Jamies offers customers an outstanding selection of wines, all of which have been chosen for their individual character, style and 'stand alone' drinkability, which are ready to be enjoyed the moment the cork is pulled!

Of the sixty-five wines available from around the world, no fewer than thirty-six are available by the glass. If you feel like pushing the boat out there are also sixteen Champagnes to choose from, three of which are available by the glass. This autumn will see the launch of 'Jamies Wine Shop' which will offer fine wines at Off Licence prices so you can enjoy top end wines without the massive mark up.

The wine list offers a fantastic representation of a staggering twenty-eight grape varieties from around the world including some top producers - Vernaccia from Panizzi, Crozes Hermitage from Combier, Grant Burge's Cabernet, Thelema's Sauvignon Blanc and many others. The list also includes seven organic wines. Organics are made without the use of manmade pesticides, herbicides, fertilizers or flavour enhancers. They have a true regional taste and individual character that's often not apparent in mass-market non-organics. Their claim to produce less toxic hangovers is certainly worth extensive testing!

Jamies sell two biodynamic wines which have been made from 100% biodynamically grown grapes. Biodynamic agriculture is the oldest certified ecological farming system in the world and was started in 1924 by a German philosopher called Rudolph Steiner, which viewed the farm as a self-sustaining organism within the surrounding ecosystem. The name 'biodynamic' is derived from the Greek word 'bio' which means life-energy. The biodynamic agriculture process uses no pesticides, herbicides, fungicides, chemical fertilizers or synthetic chemicals of any kind on the vines or in the soil, but uses homeopathic sprays and herbal preparations instead to increase soil fertility and protect the vines from pests and diseases. Biodynamic vineyards are self-sufficient to the extent that compost is made on site! Lunar cycles, earth rhythms and astrology play a major role in the activities of the vineyard to create an environment that produces a successful yield. Organic and biodynamic wines are said to reveal their delicate and true flavours because they are free from chemicals.
