L'Incontro - the new dynasty takes over the reins and creates a new look

PROPRIETORS Charlotte and Cristiano Chiarin

A SHORT HISTORY

Gino Santini opened L'Incontro in 1987. His daughter Charlotte and son-in-law Cristiano have recently taken over the running of the restaurant. Since opening, L'Incontro has established a solid reputation in the Pimlico area and has a loyal following.

DESIGNERS
Grant Pook & Co (Restaurant), David Linley & Co (Private Room)

DESIGN
Charlotte and Cristiano have had L'Incontro completely re-designed and refurbished, giving it a more contemporary look and adding a bar area to the restaurant and private room. Designer Terry Grant, has created a sleeker and softer look, maximising on natural light by introducing a clear glass front to the restaurant.

David Linley has designed the private room. The colours are natural and soothing, from the natural wood floors to the beautifully hand-carved furniture in walnut with inlays of rosewood and burr ash. The open fire, with its striking wooden fire surrounds and the original pieces of artwork by Tim Gosling create a feeling of warmth and intimacy.
